Evolution

Coming Soon

Our next piece of thought leadership will focus on the evolution of the EdTech sector – how it evolved, what were the drivers, and our predictions for the future. We look forward to presenting you with our insights.

Project Ecosystem.

Ecosystem 1.0

20 city profiles, 10000 EdTech companies, $8 billion in funding, 500 investors, and 100 community organizations and events

Ecosystem 1.0 showcases the EdTech environment within 20 diverse cities around the world. We have calculated a unique EdTech Index score for each city that measures its maturity against five dimensions of the EdTech environment – companies, funding, community, support and test bed. The 20 cities profiled in the first iteration of the report are home to 40% of the world’s EdTech companies, 7 of which are valued at over $1 billion.

Project Landscape.

Landscape 3.0

Mapping 26 clusters of innovation across 15,000 companies in the next generation learning lifecycle.

Landscape 3.0 maps $50 billion of investment in 15,000 education innovation and technology teams around the world. Over 70 pages of market maps and profiles across 26 innovation clusters. Analysis of each cluster on the dimensions of scale, investment, traction and disruptive potential is provided.

Landscape 2.0
$40 billion, 50 countries and 5,000 companies on the map shaping the future of education.

What will the next 10 years in education look like? To help us understand how it is likely to evolve and transform, we’ve started mapping the global EdTech ecosystem. It’s been 100 days since we launched Project Landscape — a global, open source, community driven initiative — and I am excited to share Landscape 2.0 next week at the ASU + GSV Summit.

Landcape 1.0
Mapping the future of education: an open-source MVP.

In summary… we found 16 innovation clusters and grouped them into 6 themes in our first scan of the market we call Landscape 1.0. That’s over 2,000 companies around the world representing $16b of investment. We are launching Project Landscape as (eventually) a global, open source, community driven initiative to help us understand what the next 10 years in education might look like.
